Debasser launched onto the music scene back 2002 with the release of the critically acclaimed track â€Fat Girls” on NovaMute. Having been previously discovered by the late Disco D’s for his detroit ghetto-tech label (GTI Records), it was Richie Hawtin, who discovered this electro gem and brought it to the attention of the UK based label, where it was re-released with international success.
Hitting the record boxes of a number of major heavy weights around the DJ world, such as the likes of Dave Clarke, Lauren Garnier and Andrew Weatherall, Debasser began putting together his now legendary live shows, part of which was to become the bass drenched floor filler that is “Dark Smileâ€. It was Debasser’s “genre busting†styles and techniques in both his the live shows and releases that were a key role in creating the UK Bass scene, and his resulting sets in some of the greatest clubs in the UK and Europe.
Since then Debasser has continued to put out bass infused party tracks on a number of labels. as well as setting up his own WIDE Records, with bass partner DJ Cutlass Supreme, on which he released the debut album “Negating Condiments” and the EPs“”Bassket Case” and “Music Freakâ€. Along side this he has also worked on a number of remix projects for the likes of Chicago Ghetto House Kind, DJ Slugo
Debasser finished his busy gig schedule from 2010 with a bass shaking live set in Koko and is starting 2011 with the release of his new EP “The TIngler†out at the end of February. This will be followed closely by his 2nd release on the infamous Seed Records with the down right dirty electro track that is “Gentsâ€. Plus he’s already back working on a follow up EP for the summer and plans for an all new album by the end of 2011.
